Despite exhausting the proper channels and several complaints to Bonus Pastor Catholic School, the Religious Education Department continues to expose our children to material that:
- Blasphemes Our Lord, this constitutes disrespect to the students’ Faith
- Ridicules the Catholic clergy, this disrespects the students’ Faith
- Normalises extra marital sexual activity, this constitutes disrespect for Family life
- Shows explicit sexual situations, this promotes disrespect for Family values
- Screens gratuitous sexual images, this invites students to disrespect themself and others
- Presents suicide as a desirable option, this encourages student to disrespect themself
- Presents euthanasia as a caring act that uses false compassion to seduce students into embracing disrespect for others
We, the parents of children attending Bonus Pastor Catholic College, believe that, by exposing our children to this type of film material, teachers of the RE Department are abusing their position as teachers and their action is tantamount to child abuse.

As Catholic parents, while we applaud the work, commitment and effort of teachers of other departments at Bonus Pastor to educate our children, we strongly resent and strenuously object to our children’s Faith, morals and psychological wellbeing being abused by those teachers of the RE Department who are pushing an anti-Catholic agenda.

The campaign is against the use of explicit and immoral material during the RE lessons at Bonus Pastor Catholic College. It has never been our intention to damage the good reputation of the school, of staff or external entities who assist at the school. We, as parents, simply want to protect our children from the exposure of material which we believe undermines their Catholic faith - material which could encourage immoral behaviour by normalising and glamorising harmful ideas, against Catholic Church teaching. We want to stop this campaign as soon a possible and ask the school for the following:
- There needs to be a public statement to withdraw the material we have published on this website, and a promise to not use material of this nature again.
- A mechanism needs to be setup so parents can be made aware of the resources the school intends to use when teaching children about moral issues.
- Finally, there should be a public apology to all parents whose children have been subjected to this type of material without their prior consent.
